The NJN News team presented live coverage of the 2008 General Election Day, Tuesday, November 4. New Jersey voters selected candidates for the offices of President and Vice President of the United States; one seat in the United States Senate; and all seats in the 13 New Jersey Congressional districts in the United States House of Representatives. A special Assembly Race and municipal offices also was on the November ballot. The NJN News coverage included reports from key campaign headquarters and in-depth analysis, as well as coverage of ballot questions.

US Senate Debate Live on NJN

NJN News presents the US Senate Debate between incumbent Democratic US Senator Frank Lautenberg and his Republican challenger Dick Zimmer. Kent Manahan, NJN News anchor, moderated the debate. A panel of reporters questioned the candidates. The debate took place in the NJN studios in Trenton. The debate is cosponsored by NJN Public Television & Radio, the Philadelphia Inquirer and Gannett NJ Newspaper Group. There will be three journalists on the panel, one from each organization.
